FAQ

The questions we get most

Don't see your question below? Reach out directly - we're glad to walk through the specifics with you.

What kind of work does MK Tax & Accounting handle?

Three things, done well: income tax preparation for individuals and businesses, ongoing accounting and bookkeeping (monthly, quarterly, or retroactive, plus payroll and financial statements), and new business services like entity setup and business consulting. One local team handles it all, start to finish.

What will it cost me?

We quote a fixed engagement fee up front, based on the complexity of your return or plan — no hourly meter and no surprise invoice at filing time. The initial consultation is free, and you'll have a transparent quote before any work begins.

I just launched a business, when should I bring in a tax professional?

Sooner than most people think. The entity type and elections you pick in year one affect your taxes for years afterward. Bringing us in early lets us set up your structure, payroll, and bookkeeping correctly from the start, ahead of your first deadline.

Do you only work with local clients?

Mostly local, yes. We're based in Oakland Park and primarily serve Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties. A lot of our work can also be handled remotely through our client portal, and in-person meetings are available by appointment.

What if I get a notice from the IRS?

Accurate, well-documented returns and bookkeeping are the best protection you can have, and that's what we focus on for every client. If a notice does show up, bring it to us, we'll help you understand what it's asking and make sure your records are in order before you respond.
